NOMINATION CRITERIA

BEAVER OF THE YEAR
Suggested Criteria include the following components
  • Dressed properly in uniform during regular meetings
  • On time for regular meetings
  • Willing to help out others without having to be prompted
  • Has appropriate level of conduct for the beaver section level
  • Participates in the beaver program to the best of their ability
CUB OF THE YEAR
Suggested Criteria include the following components
  • Dressed properly in uniform during regular meetings
  • On time for regular meetings
  • Willing to help out others without having to be prompted
  • Has appropriate level of conduct for the cub section level
  • Participates in the cub program to the best of their ability
  • Has earned a minimum of _____% of all available cub badges
SCOUT OF THE YEAR
Suggested Criteria include the following components
  • Dressed properly in uniform during regular meetings
  • On time for regular meetings
  • Willing to help out others without having to be prompted
  • Has appropriate level of conduct for the scout section level
  • Takes an active role in the development and running of the scout program (Plan, Do, Review)
  • Participates in the scout program to the best of their ability
  • Has earned a minimum of _____% of all available scout badges
  • Supports the community through non Scouting based activities
  • Has a good understanding of outdoor skills as it relates to the scout program
SENIOR SECTION MEMBER OF THE YEAR
Suggested Criteria include the following components
  • Dressed properly in uniform during regular meetings
  • On time for regular meetings
  • Willing to help out others without having to be prompted
  • Has appropriate level of conduct for the senior section level
  • Takes an active role in the development and running of the senior section program (Plan, Do, Review)
  • Participates in the senior section scout program to the best of their ability
  • Has earned a minimum of _____% of all available senior section scout badges
  • Supports the community through Scouting based activities
  • Supports the community through non Scouting based activities
  • Has a good understanding of outdoor skills as it relates to the senior section scout program
  • Keeps and demonstrates the Spirit of Scouting through their everyday life and behaviour
  • Is certified in First Aid, CPR and AED
HENSHAW’S YOUTH AWARD
Suggested Criteria include the following components
  • Awarded annually to a youth member between the ages of 10 and 18
  • Must have been registered with Scouts Canada for a minimum of 5 years
  • Must demonstrate community involvement through non Scouting based activities
  • Must demonstrate good academic standing
  • Must demonstrate meritorious standing that goes above and beyond their primary scouting role
GROUP SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR
  • There are no formal suggested criteria for this award so please feel free to submit your own personal reasons with regards to the nomination being submitted
BEAVER LEADER OF THE YEAR
  • Has taken on a primary role, planned and executed a regular meeting and/or outdoor activity for the Colony
  • Is currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Has attended a minimum of 1 Group Committee meeting or Area Sharing Session meeting
  • Has stepped forward to assist in the support and/or organization of an all-sections Group activity
  • Has introduced new resources to the Colony that can be used in future years
  • Has actively taken the Colony to participate in Area and/or Council activities
CUB LEADER OF THE YEAR
  • Has taken on a primary role, planned and executed a regular meeting and/or outdoor activity for the Pack
  • Is currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Has attended a minimum of 1 Group Committee meeting or Area Old Wolves meeting
  • Has stepped forward to assist in the support and/or organization of an all-sections Group activity
  • Has introduced new resources to the Cub Pack that can be used in future years
  • Has actively taken the Cub Pack to participate in Area and/or Council activities
SCOUT LEADER OF THE YEAR
  • Has taken on a primary role, planned and executed a regular meeting and/or outdoor activity for the Troop
  • Is currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Has attended a minimum of 1 Group Committee meeting or Area Scouter’s Club meeting
  • Has stepped forward to assist in the support and/or organization of an all-sections Group activity
  • Has introduced new resources to the Scout Troop that can be used in future years
  • Has actively taken the Scout Troop to participate in Area and/or Council activities
SENIOR SECTION ADVISOR OF THE YEAR
  • Is currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Has attended a minimum of 1 Group Committee meeting or Voyageur Council Venturer Advisor’s Forum meeting
  • Has stepped forward to assist in the support and/or organization of an all-sections Group activity
  • Has introduced new resources to the Senior Section level that can be used in future Years by the youth to make their program even better
  • Provides senior section youth information with regards to Area, Inter-Area, Council, Inter-Council, National, and International scouting activities that are age appropriate to senior section members
  • Provides appropriate guidance in an Advisory role to senior section members that allows senior section members the opportunity to actively plan their own program
